The Parkers have used historical materials to construct the Homestead - logs were salvaged from old buildings and reconstructed to meet the needs of the Homestead. Backed up onto a creek just like the settlers would have chosen for the water it provided, the Homestead is a living history museum that teaches and illustrates our heritage for today's generation.
Roberts' Chapel
The Homestead currently consists of twelve log buildings, as well as several other structures. Once the old buildings are located, they are torn down and moved to the Homestead.
Clark's Cabin
The first building, known as Clark's Cabin, was built in 1984. Due to the excited interest of the public the Parkers have spent the last ten years adding to the Homestead.
The Parkers dismantle and reconstruct the log buildings and other structures with the help of family, friends, and an ever-changing crew of young men known as the "Homestead Boys".
Homestead Boys

When the Parkers began their venture several years ago, many people donated time, materials, information, and artifacts to help preserve the heritage of yesterday for tomorrow. Without everyone's help, the Homestead would not exist - the Parkers are only the curators for the collective memories of everyone involved with the Homestead.
